Questions, answered
Where is my resume stored?
A copy of the file you upload is saved privately to your account (in My files on your resumes page), along with your score. Only you can open it, plus the Upladder team when they need to help with support or check abuse. You can delete it any time from My files.
Why do I need to sign in?
So your uploaded file and your fixed resume are saved to your own account, and you can turn it into a PDF in the builder. Signing in is free with Google or email.
Does AutoFix use AI?
No. AutoFix uses clear, published rules: lead with an action verb, drop duty phrases like “Responsible for”, remove I/my, cut filler, and add a number. It never invents results. Where a bullet needs a number, it leaves a spot for you to fill in with the real one. Separately, “✨ Improve” offers optional AI rewrites that run on your own device (Chrome's built-in AI, or a free open model you choose to download). Your resume isn't sent to an AI service, and suggestions that add numbers or names you didn't write are hidden.
How is the score calculated?
From about 25 published checks in four groups: Impact, Brevity, Style and Sections, plus Job match when you paste a job post. Each check passes, half-passes or fails, weighted by how much recruiters care about it. The same resume always gets the same score. The optional AI recruiter review gives a second opinion and grades each bullet, but it never changes the number.
Is this a real ATS score?
No. Every company's ATS is different, and anyone promising an exact ATS score is guessing. This score checks what recruiters and ATS software both reward: standard headings, contact details, skills, and short bullets with results.
How is the field and experience level worked out?
From keywords and dates. We match your skills and tools against about ten common fields (data, web, Android, iOS, design, marketing, sales, finance, HR and support) and add up the dates under Experience. Internships don't count towards years.
